The San Diego Writers and Editors Guild is a group of writers and editors dedicated to improving our skills and helping others do the same. Our mission is to promote, support, and encourage the writing art for adults and youth at every level of experience. 

Our anthology, The Guilded Pen, is a volume of the best writing submitted by our membership. Many writers have published here for the first time alongside some of San Diego’s most acclaimed authors.

The theme of the 13th edition of The Guilded Pen is "Good Luck or Is It?” The projected date for publication is October of 2025. The anthology is one of the Guild’s premier fund-raising projects with all proceeds helping the Guild continue with our mission.

The Guild has been a collaborative partner in the larger San Diego writing community since 1979 and takes part in author showcase events and fundraising for literacy and skill-building projects. Read a little more history here. 

We continue to develop and grow as a Guild, recognizing the substantial changes in communication and publishing over the past forty-five years. Every innovation is driven by the passion and commitment of our members.
